Crossroads Lewis celebrated its 25th Anniversary at the recent AGM on 17 July 2012. Jack Ryan, CEO Crossroads Caring Scotland, travelled up from Glasgow to take part in the meeting, and spoke warmly of our local service and its importance to our island community. We were reminded of our humble beginnings back in 1986, when the Stornoway Rotary Club returned from a visit to Inverness, inspired by a service they had seen in the city. Crossroads has since its extended its service from Stornoway, to cover the whole of Lewis.
The evening ended with a presentation of a bouquet of flowers to Chrissie MacRae, a board member for 25 years. Chrissie went on to say, ‘It’s such a valuable service. I hope we can see it go from strength to strength over the next 25 years.’
